of 2012, just days after the brutal murders of four americans in the diplomatic outpost in benghazi, libya, i was perhaps to say outright that our government loyed to us about what happened. it is been two years, and through subkwent hearings and leaks and investigative reports and ever- changing reports from the current administration, i never had to recant or clarify my original blunt statement. this week judicial watch finally obtained bombshell e-mails revealing that the top white house aide instructed susan rice to go on shoes and spin the loy that benghazi was due to a video. ine caught with the pants down, the white house continued to play the american public for fools, giving comments like these from white house press hack jay con man carne. >> why are you would hoking back the information and why was it not turned over to the congress and released with all of the other e-mails and it is directly relevant. >> john. >> why did it take a court case. >> i can say again and dpaen and you can keep asking again and again. this document was not about benghazi. >> right? not only president

. despite early evidence that in the 2012 attack in benghazi, libya, it was well planned and organized, the obama administration initially blamed it on an anti-muslim video and called it a spontaneous event. this week, new documents reveal ben rhodes tried to re-enforce the video angle with talking points for administration officials that would, quote, underscore that these protests are rooted in an internet video, and not a broader failure of policy. and even with this latest speculation, jay carney is downplaying questions by calling them conspiracy theories and others on the left are piling on. >> diversion subterfuge. benghazi, benghazi, benghazi. why aren't we talking about anything else? what i know of what i have read in the press about those e-mails, were fairly consistent with what was put out there before. i don't think there's anything new there. >> you have to fill the space with something. i have to tell you, benghazi has filled the space way beyond its life. benghazi is a corpse. they tried to arouse it today, and it fell right back down. >> joining us now from new york,

. this is three days after 9/11 when four americans, including the american ambassador to libya, are killed. everybody in the chain has said it's a terrorist attack, everyone in the chain is saying there's no protest. and yet this e-mail, if we're to believe jay carney at the white house, had nothing to do with benghazi. it was more about the broad scope of the region. now, imagine that. what are they going to ask about on five sunday talk shows when you have four americans who were killed just days before? they're not going to ask about the other protests that didn't see any americans killed. they're going to ask about that. so then he said that the reason they didn't originally put forward this e-mail to the committee -- they eventually got it to the committee redacted -- was because it didn't deal with benghazi. now, that really strains k-- ab did tremendous reporting on this -- >> we're going to -- we're preparing that right now. this is all breaking at the moment. we're going to have that in a minute, bret. but i want to just go back for a moment and talk about how this e-mail actually
